Tips For Anger Management That Jerry Used That Changed His Life For the Better

Jerry has had a rough life and carries a lot of resentment with him every day. Just like you or someone you may know, he has allowed this resentment to build up and start affecting his everyday life. He often spoke about how he would show people who was boss and use violence to get back at people that have wronged him during the day. Finally one day his wife suggested that he had an anger management problem and really needed to get a handle on it because it was starting to affect her outlook. That was the day that Jerry finally decided to take hold of his life and really do something about his anger. This is the story about how he did it.

The first thing his wife suggested was he think about the worst thing that has happened to him in the past. She then had him write this down on a piece of paper along with all of the parties who were involved. She also had him write down how he felt at the time which this happened. His wife was really relieved because he finally acknowledged and understood why he always got angry so fast.

After writing down the worst thing that happened to him, Jerry and his wife set a date to have a celebration. This was the date that the two of them set to have his forgiveness ceremony. His wife needed to make sure that he was truly ready to forgive these people from his past, so they didn’t make reservations just in case he wasn’t ready yet. On the day of the ceremony they started a fire in the fireplace and Jerry read out loud what he had written on the piece of paper. Then he threw the paper in the fire and stated out loud that he forgave everyone involved.

Once Jerry had burned the piece of paper he felt a huge weight come off of his shoulders and he almost immediately felt better. Dinner that night was extra special because both Jerry and his wife knew that this was the first day of the rest of their lives without Jerry’s anger. Both of them knew that Jerry had a long way to go, but getting rid of the burden was a huge first step.
