How can i deal with depression without medication. I don’t wanna be really sad and slit my wrist, jump off a bridge or shoot myself. Help??

she’s right,try boxing, depression is anger turned inside out .
one day my nephew was working out on a medicine bag that stood on the floor. he hit this thing like he was a train. i never hit one of these bags before but i was interested so i got up and i tried to hit it hard a few time but my wrist twisted and it hurt, i realized the reason my wrist twisted was i was not hitting the bag square with my fist so i slowed down and hit the bag a few times and kept hitting it trying to focus on keeping my fist from hitting unevenly. i gradually started hitting it harder well i wanted to make this bag dance across the floor like my nephew did, so to hit it harder i figured i’d get angry to feel real anger i started to remember all the bad things and all the injustices i had endured in my life next thing i know i was like in a trance and i was hitting it like a freight train. when i got done i felt like i had a free high i felt so good no aches and pains i felt this sense of good health and well being come over me. i actually got what they call a free high on that bag try doing it like i said take out all your hurt in your life on the bag
try it it’ll work
You gotta help yourself man. Find something, a song, a quote, something that can lift your spirits. Better yourself everyday -even if its just baby steps- and it will slowly fade away. The good thing is everyday will get easier than the last (as far a depression goes). Just be the person you should be, you’re not that person right now, that’s why your depressed.
I admire your decision to not take meds. I hate the way 75% of people rely on medication to be functional… I wish people could just accept themselves. Stay alive.
If you’re really suffering from severe clinical depression, things like listening to happy songs or singing most probably will not be enough in the longterm. There are many therapies that can be very effective for treating depression without the use of medication. Therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy with a counselor or therapist work for many people. Medication is not your only option, but it may help for you to see a counselor or therapist to determine if you are really suffering from depression, and which therapies might be most appropriate for you.
You could talk to someone who you really trust that is what helped me,i’m 15 and i had depression for 4 years until now when i met my teacher in grade 9 and he help me he talked to me and he helped me a lot,also you could take boxing classes which helps i never did that but it does help.

Im going through depression aswell and it is the worst possible thing to go through and i have this stigma attatched to medication but now ive been trying all sorts of stuff. Most of all talk to sum1 who u completely trust and know they understand u and will not judge u. What people dont understand is that depression is an illness so you need to take time of from school or work just to relax and do the things that keep u happy and make u forget about whats happening to ur life, meet up with friends go out sumwhere fun, do a hobby u like or just watch movies that make u laugh and i cant express how much that helped me. Just remember we have to focus on getting our self better before worrying about cathcing up or getting back into school or work, we have all our lives to do that but our mental health is soo important and fragile and we must not let anyhting destruct it. It will take time but believe in yourself and if you want to talk to sum1 whose been through it and still is just let me know as that really helps. Try these things before medication
